The age old debate rages on. Which weapon would you rather be carrying when the shit hits the fan?

With so many options and upgrades available these days either weapon system can be significantly improved upon but when comparing a stock AK47 to a stock M16 which assault rifle do you prefer?

AK-47

Strengths:

• More reliable.
• Cheaper to buy.
• More stopping power.
• Quicker to learn to use.
• Effective.
• Good in the mud.
• You won’t be out as much cash if someone steals it or the government confiscates it.

Weaknesses:

• More recoil.
• Less accuracy.
• Looser tolerances.

M16  / AR- 15 / M4 Strengths

Strengths:

• More accurate.
• Less recoil.
• Easier to stay on target.
• Troops can carry more ammo.
• Easy to add optics
• Extremely versatile.
• Modular design.
• Caliber conversions.

Weaknesses:

• A recent study in Iraq found that of the 2600 soldiers that took part in the survey 19% had problems with the M4 jamming in the middle of a firefight.
• More expensive.
• Less stopping power.
